Humanity wants its meaning back
And we’re not stopping until we get it
When did we stop valuing meaning? 🧐
At what precise point - or was it a gradual degradation and brainwashing - did we shift our values to place 99.999% of it onto (and into) the monetisation of our productivity, our hourly labour, our managerial-politico-skillz and our entirely boxed-in individual-oriented lifestyles?
I include myself in this, naturally.
We have legit traded our souls for a meaningless world. And we get OUTRAGED when someone - anyone - challenges this, because we’ve bought into it (despite those inner naggings) 10000%
We are now all unwitting participants in a gigantic Stockholm Syndrome experiment.
How unfortunate!
On the plus side, most of us can SEE this now, and that is part way there to getting OUT!
As an artist, I create MEANING out of all that I see, experience and embody. Without this I would literally die. That’s not an overstatement. Other artists understand this, and I’m SO grateful for these communities - without which, we’d all feel life was chronically hard and pointless!
I also believe non-artists are beginning to understand more fully too. Life NEEDS MEANING, and real meaning doesn’t come from being productive, neat and tidy/efficient, or even a “good” girl/boy/parent/employee/citizen. We’ve been there, played that game, sucked those sour balls and have finally realised the GAME IS UP.
HUMANITY WANTS ITS MEANING BACK.
So that’s where we support each other - lift each other up - cheer each other on, CELEBRATE each other and wholeheartedly go ALL IN on the arts and every single creative who helps us make big, magical, interconnected, luminescent MEANING of this otherwise single-dimension, myopic, sociopolitical space we find ourselves in at this time.
MAKE MEANING MATTER (again!) 🔥🙏🥰‼️🎉✨
